Busy! Long overdue update!

What’s been going on with me?

So it’s been a while since I’ve last updated this, so let me give you a quick run down of what’s been going on.

ONE.

I’ve moved away from electronic products (ie. ebooks) because I found it very difficult to sell. I know people have made tons of money through Clickbank, and although I was able to sell a couple copies, it wasn’t “fun”. This is my personal opinion, but I didn’t feel right selling a product that I knew nothing about.

TWO.

I’ve moved onto selling physical products. Why? I know more about physical products in my niche and I enjoyed writing about it. I became an affiliate to online retailers, and although the commission isn’t anything near what Clickbank pays out, I enjoy it much more because I’m reviewing something I’m passionate about

THREE.

I’ve created niche specific sites and slowly getting it indexed and building some quality backlinks. I’ve learned my lesson about blasting out backlinks because one of my websites was sandboxed by google. Once I stopped my backlink service, and slowly built the site with quality information and built backlinks progressively, I noticed a big improvement!

FOUR.

Now I’m just waiting on that coveted first sale! It’s been about a month and if I keep at it at this pace, I’ll eventually land a sale, and at the same time, getting QUALITY backlinks.

Lessons Learned?

Write about something you enjoy! When affiliate marketers say “start off with something you’re passionate about”, they mean it! The reason being is, if you don’t, and you just decide to run a campaign with a niche you’re not too familiar with, it usually ends badly – “money lost, time wasted” type of bad.

Change your mentality of “I want to rush into Affiliate Marketing and hit it big” – take my advice now, and stop that! Affiliate marketing is a slow process! I went through PPC Marketing, Article Marketing, SEO Marketing, then moved into the “ClickBank” phase until I finally found a path I enjoyed. But I don’t regret any of it! It wasn’t a waste of time, I just incorporate all those methods into my physical product sites!

Lastly, build quality backlinks! When I found out my site was sandboxed, I was livid! I worked so hard to research and write articles only to be worthless in the end. Slow and steady wins the race! Build links on PR3-8 sites, and don’t do more than 5 a day! Do it regularly and you have 35 quality links from 1 article! I’ll repeat, slow and steady win the race!

That’s it for now, I’ll keep you updated!
